Imani Studio

The story of how I looked so wonderful on my wedding day is down to Ferhat and Sultan at Imani. I had decided when Armi asked me to marry him that I wanted to make his and his family´s day special by wearing some kind of indian wedding dress. His mum and dad are very religious and proud and I knew from previous weddings and functions that they were always grateful and proud of me when I made the effort to wear indian dress.

I could not ask any member of Armi´s family for advice as to how to get my wedding dress sorted, it was down to me and Nancy (my best friend). We went to Roundhay Park where a week-end festival was being held for indian culture. As soon as we saw the Imani stand I knew we had come to the right place. I spoke to Sultan and made an appointment to meet him and Ferhat for a discussion.

Nancy and I were so impressed when we met Ferhat. She sat with Nancy and I and listened to my ideas whilst showing me various gowns, as I didn´t really have any specific strong ideas it was wonderful to speak to Ferhat who set out her ideas based around what I thought I wanted. She gave me new ideas that I had not considered and she helped me select colours that would suit me and give the overall look. Without her direction I would not have really been able to make firm decisions. Ferhat made me feel confident but more importantly excited to see the results.

Throughout the time, I was nervous about how my dress would look, Ferhat kept in touch by text giving me up dates and was always available if I need to talk.

The finished dress was truly amazing and I could not imagine how wonderful it would be. It fitted me perfectly and on the day it made both Armi and his mum cry.

I can say that from the moment I met Sultan and Ferhat they achieved a totally one off personally designed dress that I could never have imagined, I would recommend them without hesitation to anybody who wants to look extra special.
